It's no secret here that sweets are the death of me! I'm serious, I think I literally have an addiction to sweets, chocolate, sour patch kids, you name it! :)
To satisfy my sweet tooth and Easter this Sunday, here are two recipes that I made last year with photos to go along!
Not only am I a fan of sweets, but I love baking and cooking anything that has a creative result (and hopefully it tastes good too)!
These are fairly easy recipes although the Sunflower Chocolate "Peeps" Cake took a little more time.
Enjoy!
Eventing off,
Miss C.S.
SUNFLOWER CHOCOLATE "PEEPS" CAKE
INGREDIENTS
*1 package (18-1/4 ounces) yellow cake mix
*2 cans (16 ounces each) chocolate frosting
*19 yellow chick Peeps candies
*1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
*Shredded coconut
*Green food coloring
DIRECTIONS
*Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using two greased and waxed paper-lined 9-in. round baking pans.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely; carefully remove waxed paper.
*Level tops of cakes. Spread frosting between layers and over the top and sides of cake.
*Without separating Peeps and curving slightly to fit, arrange chicks around edge of cake for sunflower petals.
*For sunflower seeds, arrange chocolate chips in center of cake.
*For "grass", take about 1/4 cup (may need more or less) and add a few drops of green food coloring. Stir and then add coconut around the edge of the plate.
Serves about 12.
