I'm Training to Beat Cancer!

I've always been part of a team whether it was for volleyball, basketball, being a part of my family, my group of friends or any of the nonprofit organizations I volunteer my time to.

It is being part of a team that helps push you and cheer for you and help move you in a positive way.

A team is your support system...

That's why I joined The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training to help push me to run 26.2 miles....MY FIRST FULL MARATHON:

The Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon -- Sunday, October 21, 2012

It is estimated that every four minutes, someone is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease or myeloma.

Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. In 2011, the Central Ohio Chapter of LLS had more than 4,000 patient contacts.

So, why am I doing this?

Here are four reasons:

1. I want to run for my honored heroes and friends.
2. I want to raise money for blood cancer research.
3. I want to run my first marathon that is benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital....a hospital that closed two holes in my heart in 2006.
4. I look good in pain, soaked in sweat... :)

In order to help find a cure, and to help provide patients with much-needed financial aid, I'm going to spend the next few months working to raise at least $1,000 and I would be so honored if you would join me in this effort by making a donation of $10, $20, $25, $50, $75 or whatever you can afford.

You can visit my Web page at http://pages.teamintraining.org/coh/columbus12/acurlk to donate.

Your donation is 100% tax-deductible.

With the support of generous people like you, we can help The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society continue to make strides in fulfilling its mission: A CURE!

Thank you in advance for your support.

Eventing off,
Miss C.S.
