Overcoming Adversity

Hey Columbus,

Sorry for the delay in posting. I’ve had what they call a BAD WEEK. I’m about a 99% positive person, so it’s not like me to be down in the dumps...and to be like it for a week.

But after...
• An accident involving wine glasses and bottles falling off the wall

• Waiting 20 MORE days for someone to come home

• Spending a day at the CVS “Minute” Clinic just for them to tell me I have a "viral" infection

• To the next day spending FIVE hours aka day of hell in the ER because of chest pains which included NINE pokes of needles/IVs in both arms,

to multiple bruises, a chest X-ray, two cat scans because they MESSED up on the first round which led to saline solution build up in my arm...

...that I found out I have pneumonia.

I’m not looking for sympathy, just taking 1. the day to rest and 2. to conclude my venting. I’m going to try to bring back some positive light into my life.

Blogging is something that I enjoy especially when it comes to talking about some amazing people, charities and events in our community.

I have a guest blogger coming up to discuss all the great upcoming 5K runs in central Ohio that she personally enjoys running and they all have a charitable cause. She’s running in the Pride 5K tomorrow at 7 p.m. and if I was feeling better, I would definitely run with her! A post will be coming soon from a wonderful childhood friend who’s an attorney in Columbus and is one of the funniest and amazing people I know!

Also tomorrow brings the Nationwide Children’s Hospital “Run for the Rainbow” 5K Run/ Walk and Kids Fun Run!

Registration is at 5:30 p.m. at New Albany Market Square on Market Street. Registration is $35 for the 5K Run and Walk and $25 for the Kids Fun Run. I’ve personally ran in this and it’s a great event, especially watching the Kids Fun Run. This is a great event for the whole family! Click HERE for more information.

This weekend I’m also excited to celebrate with another childhood friend, her bridal shower and bachelorette party! I’m also honored to be a part of her special day as a Bridesmaid. The couple now lives in Florida, but I’m ecstatic to celebrate and roast and toast her this weekend before the big day on September 29th! (Pic below of Katie and I at their PJ Christmas Party!)

So there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just needed to open my eyes a little wider and stop sweating the small stuff.

Here’s to a much better weekend with so much to be thankful for!

Eventing off,
Miss C.S.

That sucks about the wine and the glasses :( And that SUPER sucks about the saline build-up and the multiple needle pokes. But as someone who strives to look at the bright side of things, I have to say...five hours in the ER is practically an in-and-out service, haha. Last time I was there, my throat was swollen to the point where it was hard to breathe and I still waited a good four hours just to be seen.

Anyway. Hope you feel better soon :)
