That’s right; Whoopi Goldberg is coming to Columbus to Nationwide Arena this Friday, June 29th for The Women’s Fund’s annual Keyholder event.
Last year I attended with my mom and we had the best time listening to Goldie Hawn! She was fearless! And that’s what I think is so inspiring about The Women’s Fund and this event. It honors the women and girls who have made a significant impact in their lives.
What woman in your life has made an impact in your life? Is it a family member, colleague, friend? I’d love to hear from you.
Because for me, the woman who has made the greatest impact in my life is...my mom.
She is the first person I tell any big news to, the first person I cry to, the first person I vent to (sorry Mom) :), but it’s the support and love she provides me that I am so thankful for. She is always my biggest cheerleader and with the assistance from her and my Dad, they have led me to where I am today in my career and life. Read more HERE about my Mom as a past Columbus Socialite of the Week.
Here’s something else for you all to think about today. What can you do this week, this month, this year to change the community? To do something caring or nice for someone else?
In idea from CS would be to get involved with your community. There are so many great nonprofits and organizations in our community that whatever your passion is, find it and help out.
Do you like animals? Try volunteering for the Humane Society or Friends of the Shelter.
Do you love kids? Join Big Brothers Big Sisters or get involved with helping the inner city children with City Year.
There is so much out there and if you need help narrowing down your choices or selections, or you just don’t know where to start, send me an email and I’ll lead you in the right direction, just as my parents did for me.
Or start by attending The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio’s Keyholder Event this Friday. Tickets are $50 and all the proceeds will provide grants that promise social change for women and girls!
I promise you’ll walk away that evening with so much more than your money’s worth!
To purchase tickets, visit HERE or call 614-225-9926. Also, be sure to follow The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio on Facebook and on Twitter @WomensFundCo.
Eventing off,
Miss C.S.
