We've all heard the stat that red wine is good for the heart. Even though it's a glass an evening, I like to think of it as always! :)
Wine proved to benefit the heart last Tuesday, and The Heart Center for Nationwide Children's Hospital, as over fifty people attended the "Celebrity" bartending event where I poured vino to raise money for Kinder Key, a women's auxiliary group that supports the The Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Thanks to the host, Camelot Cellars, a wine boutique in the Short North, I'm happy to report that $469 was raised in two hours that evening to benefit The Heart Center!
**$200 in bar proceeds (20% of the bar tab)
**$103 in tips
**$146 in candle and angel sales (Thanks to Kinder Key's President Court for selling them there)
Thank you to all that came out and supported a very dear and near cause to my heart! As I've blogged before, I was a heart patient myself in 2006 at Nationwide Children's Hospital where Dr. Cheatham was able to close two holes in my heart non-evasively.
(Kinder Key Members - Me, Tami, Angie, Trista)
I've always wanted to give back to the hospital, especially The Heart Center, which is why Kinder Key is my go-to nonprofit!
So from my heart to yours, thank you Camelot Cellars and everyone that attended, drank wine, donated, bought a candle, angel or a bottle of wine!!
You support is giving new hope to young hearts.

Eventing off,
Miss C.S.
