Denim and Diamonds went off with a sparkle!
The 7th Annual gala was a smash thanks to the hard work from co-chairs Courtney G. and Leigh Ann S. Bravo!!
With over 200 people dressed to the nines, Brookside Country Club was filled with a room full of fashionistas, doctors, friends and families that all came for one reason...to support the Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
I've been a member of Kinder Key, a women's auxiliary group that raises money for the heart center for the past three years. I joined after I had heart surgery at the heart center at Nationwide Children's Hospital and I wanted to give back and help other hearts in need.
Denim & Diamonds is our group's biggest fundraiser of the year.
Johnny Diloretto emceed the evening, BOMBPOP provided the live music, photos were taken in Shutterbooth's photobooth, floral was donated by Flowers on Orchard Lane and tons of prizes were won!
Johnny D. and co-chair Leigh Ann pictured below
Many walked out winners with items from our Chinese Auction, silent auction, live auction, Diamond ring raffle and our most popular Diamond Raffle where lucky winners won:
*Jeans for a year at High Street Denim
*Two Southwest Airlines
*A Barrel of Cheer
*A Barrel of Wine
*Opal Pendant from Krysty's Designs
*Bulova Watches - His and Hers
I was disappointed I didn't win Courtney's amazing Lottery Tree in the Chinese Auction though!
(pictured below with little D)
On a fashion note, I was pumped to wear my "RENT THE RUNWAY" dress, a Bagdley Mischka which I adored the sparkle! I highly recommend this site which I will get into more detail with in another post!
All in all, if you missed this event mark your calendar for next year where Kinder Key will host you to another wonderful evening! More photos to come!
Thanks for all that volunteered and attended, including fashion blogger and featured Columbus Socialite of the Week, Khola Waddy-Jones!
If you're interested in joining Kinder Key, message me and I'll send you all the details. It's a great group of ladies who like to have fun for a cause!
Eventing off,

Columbus Socialite of the Week: Khola Waddy-Jones
Happy Fashionista Friday!
I’m excited to feature a fellow blogger today as the Columbus Socialite of the Week.
Hot off the press! This fashionista was just featured in Columbus Monthly’s April issue and is passionate about bringing a fashionable focus to Columbus.
She publishes her blog Kholá’s Kloset and is also a fashion writer for Examiner.com.
She is actively involved in CMH Fashion Week and enjoys life in our City!
So who is this Cbus fashion icon?
GETTING TO KNOW...KHOLA WADDY-JONES
Miss C.S. - By far Favorite thing to do in Columbus:
KWJ: Shop! It’s one of my favorite activities anywhere!
Miss C.S. - Favorite Restaurant in the City:
KWJ: Betty’s in Short North. I’ve never had a bad dish there. I also love Lindey’s patio in the summer time.
Miss C.S. - Favorite Hidden Gem:
KWJ: Curiosity Shop in Clintonville. If you love vintage jewelry, you need to make it a point to go there.
Miss C.S. - Favorite Shop/Store:
KWJ: Right now I’m loving Thread on Grandview. It’s relatively new but has a great selection of designers that no other boutique in the city carries.
Miss C.S. - Best Party, Event or Scene in the City:
KWJ: I can’t say that I party that much anymore. Should have asked me a few years ago! LOL. At the moment I’m into smaller scale events like going to hear local musicians play. I recently went to hear Alex White for the first time and really enjoyed it.
Miss C.S.. – Favorite local celebrity:
KWJ: I like Mayor Coleman for his passion and involvement in our city and his focus on growing it to make it an even better place to live. He’s not afraid to get involved with creative projects like CMH Fashion Week. Lending his support to help bring a fashionable focus to Columbus...which of course is dear to my heart!
Miss C.S. – Charity of Choice:
KWJ: Dress for Success. I love its mission.
Miss C.S. - Best Quality of a Person:
KWJ: A genuine heart.
Miss C.S. – How long have you been in central Ohio:
KWJ: I moved here in 2003 from upstate NY.
Miss C.S. – As a fellow blogger, what was your passion / reason for starting a blog:
KWJ: My passion is fashion so I wanted to share my love of it with others and hopefully inspire them.
Miss C.S. – You were also just featured in Columbus Monthly. Tell us a little more about your blog, Kholá’s Kloset:
KWJ: Kholá’s Kloset is a little bit of what’s in my actual closet as well I what I wish was in it. Hermés anyone? LOL. It's a mix of vintage, high-end and high street inspirations.
Miss C.S. – Favorite fashion trend:
KWJ: Currently its lots of color. Not necessarily neon, although it’s hot right now but bold colors like bright, rich jewel tones.
Miss C.S. – Favorite fashion staple – old, new, anything:
KWJ: You can’t beat black and white fitted t-shirts. You can do so many looks with them. Wear them alone, layer, under a jacket, over a dress. Be creative!
Miss C.S. – What is your fashion advice to the readers out there?:
KWJ: Don’t fear what others think. A lot of times because we live in the midwest, people are afraid to just go for it. It’s a little more conservative here. The thing is, you can pull out all the stops and still be classy and put together. Yes, you can wear a bold mini dress just keep the top half covered. You can mix a floral print with stripes. You CAN wear white prior to Memorial Day. Old rules are out!
Miss C.S. – What word comes to mind when you think of “Columbus meets fashion”:
KWJ: Fresh!
Miss C.S. – What is one thing people may not know about you:
KWJ: I used to be VERY shy. I still am to a point.
Miss C.S. - Finish the sentence, “If I could do anything in the World, I would...”
KWJ: End all types of prejudice. Be it race, gender, lifestyle, class…everyone would be treated equally.
Miss C.S. – Why Columbus? (live, work, play – you name it)
KWJ: Opportunity. I originally came here only to finish my Master’s degree but decided to stay. Columbus is a great entrepreneurial incubator. For instance, a friend and I are starting a new venture called 24 Seven Couture. Its online luxury consignment focused in the Columbus area. We’ll also be locating high-end items for clients. The response so far has been really positive!
Miss C.S. - In ONE word, a Columbus Socialite is:
KWJ: FABULOUS!
Khola, thank you so much for your interview and I look forward to seeing you at Kinder Key of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Gala – DENIM & DIAMONDS!!
To purchase your Denim & Diamonds ticket for next Saturday, April 28 from 7-11 p.m. at Brookside Country Club that benefits the Heart Center, visit here.

Travel Bug Thursday...DUBAI
Hey All,
As the weekend is nearing, I decided that I am sitting here daydreaming about traveling again that I might as well start blogging about it (#dream job). So in light of it being Thursday (TGIF TOMORROW) and to start blogging on traveling (Attention to all companies out there that need a travel/food/fashion/event blogger -- I'm your gal) :)...Cheers to Travel Bug Thursday.
DUBAI, UAE
(Burj Kalifa, Tallest building in the world)
GETTING THERE
Emirates. An aircraft that puts most American flights to shame. They treat you like gold, even if you're not in first or business class. Fly this aircraft to over 100 world-wide destinations. To find out more information, visit www.emirates.com.
I flew Emirates from JFK directly to Dubai. It was about a 12-ish hour flight, but flying out at 11 p.m. (and after a glass of vino) helps pass the time...that is if you can sleep on a flight. But with individual tvs on your seats to watch an abundant amount of movies, television shows, listen to music or email/text from the sky...you can keep yourself pretty busy. Oh did I mention you're fed about every hour or two and cocktails are complimentary! :)
CULTURE
A modern environment that doesn't feel real at times. I was a litte intimidated to fly over by myself (before meeting up with Mr. Z) as I didn't know what to expect. I was fretting prior to the trip on making sure I had conservative clothes and wouldn't offend anyone or its culture.
Ladies - continue reading for suggestions/tips on clothing and what to pack below.
Be sure to remember a few things before going...you are not in America so respect the Muslim country.
No intoxication, no PDA and dress conservatively.
Alcohol isn't served in a lot of the restaurants, especially during Ramadan, the holiest of months in the Islamic calendar. So, if you are coming outside of that month, pick up a couple bottles of your favorite adult beverage from the duty-free store at the airport. Alcohol can be found in most hotel restaurants. If you stay where we did, you may want to bring your own wine opener, as there is only one in the entire hotel/restaurant. :)
PLACES TO STAY
The Flora Grand Hotel, Dubai
(Lobby)
(Rooftop Pool)
Mr. Z and I stayed a little outside of the main area, near Diera City Centre which was only about a 5-min cab ride to the Dubai Mall! Considered a 4-star hotel, the Flora Grand Hotel on Al Rigga Road was perfect. The hotel picked me up from the airport (Mr. Z was delayed in another foreign country) and checked me right in, while offering a refreshing juice beverage upon arrival. The room(suite) was clean and very spacious. Amenties included a pool on the rooftop (Dubai was pretty warm in February), a spa and an exercise facility. If you don't want to take a cab, the metro station is only a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel.
CUISINE
Room Service. :) I was tired and a little timid to venture out of the hotel my first afternoon before Mr. Z arrived so when all else fails, order room service (veggie sandwich aka delish cucumbers with french fries and a Coca Cola Light!)
Our first night we ate Egyptian food and Mr. Z did a good job of ordering a variety of dishes to try even not knowing what some were. I can't even remember what all we ordered, but it was pretty good.
Our second night (pictured above) was spent in Abu Dhabi and we ate dinner at the Tiara which was the restaurant on the top level of this space-needle type of building that spun around at a snails pace, similar to the one in Seattle. Hummus it was (I think we ate this at every meal) along with salads and fish. The food was not that great there. *Tip: Go for the view, enjoy a coffee at the coffee shop a few floors down and save your money for dinner somewhere else. They also do not serve wine here.
There are restaurants all along the roads and cafes are every where! Of course I had to take a picture of the COLUMBUS CAFE inside the Mall of the Emirates. Columbus meets Dubai.
Our Third night, we had a FABULOUS dinner at the Address. It was a trifeca as we like to say. We were craving three things: hummus (go figure), sushi and lamb. They had all and we (or maybe I) capped it with a nice glass or two of vino.
Prior to dinner, which I'll get into below, Mr. Z suprised me with a trip to "At the Top" which was an AMAZING sight to see...a sight of all of Dubai from the tallest building in the world, the Burj Kalifa (picture above). After lots of photos, my sense of being scared of heights almost going away and an incredible and windy view, we headed back down the fastest elevator I've ever been on and had a caffeinated beverage at The Social House. Nice place to stop and take in the view.
When our reservations were ready (another surprise) we headed into the Address to the Cigar Lounge for a cocktail and a cigar for Mr. Z and watched the lights of downtown Dubai brighten up the sky. It was breathtaking. (pix below)

FASHIONISTAS
Conservative, conservative, conservative -- Ladies, think scarves to cover your shoulders, long skirts (or at least to your knees) or longer shorts/capris. Although, I will say you're completely fine in your hotel, but just be respectful...this isn't Vegas. You can wear bikinis at your hotel pool, but cover up more if you're walking on the public beach.
NEARBY EMIRATES TO VISIT
Abu Dhabi:
(Our bus to Abu Dhabi)
We took a bus (2-hr ride) to Abu Dhabi our second day, which was beautiful and in about 3-5 years will be right up there with Dubai. I loved seeing the modern skyscrapers, walking along the corniche/boardwalk and wondering aimlessly around the Emirates Palace of Abu Dhabi.
(Abu Dhabi)
(In front of the Emirates Palace)
Sharjah:
Mr. Z. visited here his first go around, so I can't comment on this. But all I know is that this will be visited for Round two! I believe it is only about 30 minutes away and he got to ride all over the sand dunes on sand buggies and the area was loaded with entertainment, camel rides, etc.
ATTRACTIONS..AKA SHOPPING
Lucky for us (although I didn't partake) we visited Dubai during the Biggest Shopping Festival of the year... A whole month full of sales, sales and sales at the malls. It brings in visitors from all over the world to purchase handbags, fabrics, shoes and more at a great rate in this lavish country.
We went to the Mall of the Emirates the first night and the Dubai Mall our last night. That afternoon we also saw "Mission Impossible 4" which a scene was filmed there, as you know. It was very cool to see the real thing after watching the movie! I would also recommend visiting THE Gold Souk which we didn't make it to, but you may have caught a glimpse of Kim Kardashian visiting it on her show!
(Ski slope inside the Mall of the Emirates)
(Aquarium inside the Dubai Mall)
(Ice Skating Rink inside the Dubai Mall)
(Waterfall Atrium inside the Dubai Mall)
All in all this was ONE amazing trip that I will never forget. It's definitely on our list to go back and visit other attractions for Round Two (three for Mr. Z).
Safe Travels.
Eventing off on a jet plane,

I'm Training to Beat Cancer!
I've always been part of a team whether it was for volleyball, basketball, being a part of my family, my group of friends or any of the nonprofit organizations I volunteer my time to.
It is being part of a team that helps push you and cheer for you and help move you in a positive way.
A team is your support system...
That's why I joined The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training to help push me to run 26.2 miles....MY FIRST FULL MARATHON:
The Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon -- Sunday, October 21, 2012
It is estimated that every four minutes, someone is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease or myeloma.
Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. In 2011, the Central Ohio Chapter of LLS had more than 4,000 patient contacts.
So, why am I doing this?
Here are four reasons:
1. I want to run for my honored heroes and friends.
2. I want to raise money for blood cancer research.
3. I want to run my first marathon that is benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital....a hospital that closed two holes in my heart in 2006.
4. I look good in pain, soaked in sweat... :)
In order to help find a cure, and to help provide patients with much-needed financial aid, I'm going to spend the next few months working to raise at least $1,000 and I would be so honored if you would join me in this effort by making a donation of $10, $20, $25, $50, $75 or whatever you can afford.
You can visit my Web page at http://pages.teamintraining.org/coh/columbus12/acurlk to donate.
Your donation is 100% tax-deductible.
With the support of generous people like you, we can help The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society continue to make strides in fulfilling its mission: A CURE!
Thank you in advance for your support.
Eventing off,
Miss C.S.

Off the Grid!
With Off The Grid tonight at the Wexner Center for the Arts, check out pictures from last year's fab event!
Last year's event featured star-powered DJ sets from Shuttle (Nate of Passion Pit), DJ Patrick (O-GEE), live music from trance-rocking locals Shin Tower Music and visuals from VJ Rainer(DIG!).
Food was provided by Dine Originals Columbus restaurants like Barrio, Rigsby’s, Black Creek Bistro and Due Amici.
The gallery was open for all to see and a VIP reception was available to the lucky ones before the party started.
Did I mention it was a SOLD OUT EVENT!?!
Photos taken by Chris Faytle, Eclipse Studios
This year seems like it will be just as hot.
To find out more information about tonight's event ($100 VIP tickets), click here and watch the video below!

Life in the City
Happy Friday and sorry for the week delay in posting!
I'll be better next week and I am happy to feature a fellow blogger, who just happened to be in Columbus Monthly this past issue! So keep an eye out for that post next week!
Tomorrow marks two weeks from moving from the burbs to downtown and although it won't be complete until Mr. Z gets here, it's been a work in progress getting everything moved in and organized. (Thanks Mom for all your help...and Dad for the shelving!)
I'll post some updated pix along the way, but I'm excited to venture out to see what's around me and experience more to what this City has to offer!
In the mean time, enjoy a couple pix from our view from our condo and the rooftop...being an event planner, I am dying to throw a soire up there with all the bells and whistles. :)
With a change of scenery for my work and play, stay tuned...there could be a *change* coming to ColumbusSocialite.com...but that's where you come in hand and I'll need all of your suggestions, ideas and feedback.
Have a great weekend.
Eventing off,
Miss C.S.

Eventing off,
Miss C.S.

Columbus Socialite of the Week: BEN WICKIZER
Happy Friday!
Last week you may remember that I featured Jen Lewis, director of operations at Nurtur the Salon. With Nurtur the Salon partnering with Aveda and its beneficiary Sierra Club of Columbus for Earth Month, I have a great feature today continuing the promotion and love for April being Earth Month.
Only living in Columbus for two years, this feature has a love for German Village, his dog and seeing Columbus continue to grow. Not only does he mention great hot spots around the City, he talks more in depth about the Sierra Club, what you can do and know to keep Ohio‘s water clean, what Columbus needs and what events Nurtur and Aveda have coming up that will benefit the Sierra Club.
Interested to read more? I think so…
GETTING TO KNOW...BEN WICKIZER, Conservation Program Coordinator for the Sierra Club Ohio Chapter
Miss C.S. - By far Favorite thing to do in Columbus:
BW: Playing Frisbee with my Australian shepherd in Schiller Park. It’s a great park, and it’s such a plus to have it so close to my house.
Miss C.S. - Favorite Restaurant in the City:
BW: G. Michaels. It’s walking distance from my house, it’s got the best happy hour in the city and the food is absolutely sumptuous. For sandwiches, though, Si Senor, which is about a block from the Sierra Club offices downtown, is hands down the best in Columbus.
Miss C.S. - Favorite Hidden Gem:
BW: Audubon Park. Although characterizing it as a “hidden” gem might not be fair any more. When I first moved to Columbus about two years ago, I used to walk there with my dog and play Frisbee in the designated dog park, which at that time was simply a large field. Now, much of the dog park area has been transformed into a dog agility park. Although the park’s new digs are quite nice, I think I prefer its earlier, humbler state – fewer people, and dogs, to contend with.
Miss C.S. - Favorite Shop/Store:
BW: Columbus Camera Group. This is kind of a niche store, but it’s a great place for anyone interested in photography. It’s in an old, somewhat decrepit building, which I think at one time was a church, but that adds to its character. It sells new and used camera equipment, as well as digital and film. The staff there is great and definitely eager to help. They also run a themed monthly photo contest through their Facebook page, which is a fun activity to participate in.
Miss C.S. - Best Party, Event or Scene in the City:
BW: The German Village Monster Bash (Halloween) party. Attendees trick-or-treat for various libations, and then everyone rendezvous at a central location for a party. It’s fun to go to with a couple of friends and just take in the spectacle.
Miss C.S. – Charity of Choice:
BW: Well, aside from the Sierra Club and our other great environmental organizations, I think Ronald McDonald House is a very worthwhile charity. My girlfriend regularly volunteers at the “house,” and it’s great that they are able to help the families of seriously ill children. I think supporting people in such difficult circumstances is very admirable.
Miss C.S. - Best Quality of a Person:
BW: Adept conversationalist. The ability to engage in lively, meaningful conversation is something I value very much. The visceral feeling of well being that one gets from connecting with someone on an intimate level through conversation is very powerful.
Miss C.S. – How long have you been with Sierra Club and coordinating the water program in central Ohio:
BW: I’ve worked for the Club for just over a year and have coordinated the water program in central Ohio throughout my tenure. There certainly is no shortage of water issues to work on in central Ohio, so I stay pretty busy.
Miss C.S. – What events do you have coming up that others can participate:
BW: Well, April, or “Earth Month,” is definitely our busiest time. We have a couple of fun Aveda events coming up, including our Cocktails for a Cause fundraiser and the Aveda Institute Columbus’s Earth Jam.
Cocktails for a Cause is April 28, from 6-9 pm, at Skully’s in the Short North. Tickets are $10 and include happy hour drinks, a silent auction, fashion show, and prizes. This event is a great opportunity to support the cause of clean water in central Ohio and get out and have some fun.
The Earth Jam event is May 8, from 6-10 pm, at the LC Pavilion. Tickets start at $15, and there will be drinks, a live and silent auction, and a fashion show. This is a really cool event, and the fashion show they put on is quite impressive.
Miss C.S. – Tell us al little more about the Sierra Club:
BW: The Sierra Club has an interesting history. It was started in 1982 in California and began as an “outings” group. Our founder, John Muir, was an inventor and avid nature enthusiast. One of his beliefs, which was novel for the time, was that nature provided an opportunity to “soothe the soul.” I certainly agree with this and see nature’s profound effect in my own life.
For the last century, the Sierra Club has been advocating for the protection of our environment and natural resources. We work on a range of issues from promoting energy-efficiency, to protecting wilderness. It’s really humbling to be part of such a storied organization.
Miss C.S. – Have you partnered with Nurtur Salon before on any promotions:
BW: Nurtur has been a great Earth Month partner with us for a number of years. It usually holds a “Beauty for the Earth” event, where it offers complimentary services to raise money for the central Ohio Sierra Club Clean Water Campaign. We come out and talk to the salon staff and patrons about the importance of clean water and the work the Club does in central Ohio.
Miss C.S. – What is one thing everyone can do or should know about keeping clean water in Ohio:
BW: Everything is connected. If we pull one string, the entire system moves and reacts. Our water contamination issues have been wrought largely from our development in recent decades and the desire to see the region grow imprudently quickly. Stormwater run-off is a primary source of water contamination in central Ohio. It’s largely attributable to the destruction of natural areas and creating an undue amount of “grey” space, where water lands on pavement or other impermeable surface and runs off, collecting the pollutants it contacts until it inevitably enters our waterways.
One easy, cost-effective method for lessening this phenomenon is to create green infrastructure, which is engineered vegetated areas that surface water run-off comes into contact with, and then these areas absorb much of that contaminated water so it doesn’t enter the waterways. It would be great if the City of Columbus created a more robust program to address stormwater run-off and implement green infrastructure.
Miss C.S. - Finish the sentence, “If I could do anything in the World, I would...”
BW: Travel to every continent and take an inordinate number of photographs. I could spend a lifetime doing this and it would never get old. I have a bit of an ever-present wanderlust, and I love exploring new places, making connections, learning, and sharing with other people. Photography is a great vehicle for sharing and connecting with others; I think this is one of the primary reasons people start doing photography – to record our journeys for, not only ourselves, but for others. It’s kind of akin to storytelling.
Miss C.S. – Why Columbus? (live, work, play – you name it)
BW: Columbus is a city on the rise, and that’s exciting. Even since I moved here, which was only a couple of years ago, I notice significant differences in the character of the city. From the businesses and restaurants that exist, to the actual built environment itself. It’s fun to take-in this evolution and know that, although Columbus still has a lot of room to grow, it’s moving onward and upward.
Miss C.S. - In ONE word, a Columbus Socialite is:
BW: An Advocate
Thanks Ben for your interview and for the beneficial information on creating green infrastructure, the Sierra Club’s mission and letting us take a peek into your favorite fun spots around the City.
All CS readers, be sure to mark your calendars for the two upcoming Earth Month events– Cocktails for a Cause: April 28 and Earth Jam: May 8.
Enjoy your weekend.

Hoppy Easter Recipes!
It's no secret here that sweets are the death of me! I'm serious, I think I literally have an addiction to sweets, chocolate, sour patch kids, you name it! :)
To satisfy my sweet tooth and Easter this Sunday, here are two recipes that I made last year with photos to go along!
Not only am I a fan of sweets, but I love baking and cooking anything that has a creative result (and hopefully it tastes good too)!
These are fairly easy recipes although the Sunflower Chocolate "Peeps" Cake took a little more time.
Enjoy!
Eventing off,
Miss C.S.
SUNFLOWER CHOCOLATE "PEEPS" CAKE
INGREDIENTS
*1 package (18-1/4 ounces) yellow cake mix
*2 cans (16 ounces each) chocolate frosting
*19 yellow chick Peeps candies
*1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
*Shredded coconut
*Green food coloring
DIRECTIONS
*Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using two greased and waxed paper-lined 9-in. round baking pans.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely; carefully remove waxed paper.
*Level tops of cakes. Spread frosting between layers and over the top and sides of cake.
*Without separating Peeps and curving slightly to fit, arrange chicks around edge of cake for sunflower petals.
*For sunflower seeds, arrange chocolate chips in center of cake.
*For "grass", take about 1/4 cup (may need more or less) and add a few drops of green food coloring. Stir and then add coconut around the edge of the plate.
Serves about 12.
EASTER EGG CUPCAKE BASKETS
INGREDIENTS
*1 package of yellow or chocolate cake mix
*2 cans of vanilla or buttercream frosting (or you can make your own)
*Shredded coconut
*Green food coloring
*Bag of peanut m&ms (or use regular if you have a peanut allergy) **You can also use jelly beans or your favorite candy.
*Shoestring licquorice
DIRECTIONS
*Prepare and bake cupcakes as directed on box. Cool completely.
*Frost cupcakes.
*Dye the shredded/flaked cupcakes with a few drops of green food coloring. Stir to make sure all coconut is covered.
*Add shredded coconut to tops of frosted cupcakes.
*Add (3) m&ms to each cucpake.
*Cut the shoestring licquorice in half and insert each end into sides of cupcake.

After I first saw an Ad on Facebook for The Color Run, I immediately knew I wanted one in Columbus. They were popping up in cities all of the nation, so why not Columbus?!
So I started to promote and tag The Color Run in posts, then one day The Color Run commented on my Facebook post of a request to "please, please paint the Bus" with a run here in our City!
Now, I'm not saying in any shape or form, my pleaing on Facebook or Twitter helped, but I do know I'm one happy girl who will get to run and be splashed with paint for a cause on Saturday, July 21st!
The annual Color Run is a race where you can run/walk solo or form a “color team” of 4+ members. Registration will open on Monday, April 9th. Spring Cocktails are the new black!
Spring is here, which brings patio season and warmer weather! My favorite two things mixed together...actually make that three with cocktails!
Although, by the feel of today you wouldn’t think it’s spring! “Dear Mother Nature, please bring back the weather we had in March. Thank you."
To get you through the rest of the week, here’s something to look forward to...spring, warm weather, the weekend and course...refreshing cockatils!!
Thanks to Chambord and Finlandia for sending me samples so I can enjoy my own!
I’m thinking these will be mighty tasty on the rooftop of my building, with a view of the City! What do you think?! :)
Enjoy making own cocktails (recipes below) for an event or party, the warm weather or being just a fabulous hostess with the mostess!
Cheers to Spring (and refreshments)!
